What We Believe
Bible: We believe the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is the divinely inspired Word of God, the final written authority and trustworthy for faith and practice. The primary purpose of the Bible is to point to Jesus Christ, the living Lord of the Church.. We accept no humanly devised confession or creed as binding.
God: We believe in the triune God of the Bible who is eternally one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are one God, having the same nature, attributes, and perfection and worthy of the same worship, reverence, trust, and obedience.
Jesus Christ: We believe in the deity of Christ, in His Virgin Birth, in His sinless life, and in His miracles. He lived in perfect obedience to the Father, voluntarily paid the price for the sins of all people by dying on the cross as their substitute, and satisfied divine justice, bringing salvation to all who trust in Him alone. He was crucified and buried, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven where He now sits at the right hand of God the Father. He promises to return to earth, personally and visibly, to fulfill history and the eternal plan of God.
Salvation: We believe that salvation for each person has been provided by the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross as our substitute, shedding His blood to pay the penalty for our sins. Salvation is the forgiveness of sins, release from guilt and condemnation, and reconciliation with God. It is completely a work of God’s free grace; it is not in any way the result of human works or goodness. Each person can receive salvation through repentance and faith. God’s word assures individuals that He will continue His saving work in them forever. Eternal life is granted in grace to all who trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is the abiding Comforter and Helper sent by God the Father and God the Son to strengthen our faith and conform us to the image and likeness of Christ. He renews and indwells each believer upon salvation, becoming their source of assurance, strength, wisdom, and gifting the believer for building up the Church.
Everyday Living: We believe that we belong to God and that because we are now His we are called to holy living in which we obey the teaching of the Bible, put away sinful desires, and cultivate the fruit of the Spirit. In all matters of faith and practice Scripture is the final authority. In matters where the Scripture is silent, each believer should conscientiously seek to be led by the Lord because it is to Him alone he or she is ultimately responsible.
The Future: We believe in the bodily resurrection and a judgment of both the saved and the lost. They that are saved to the resurrection of life, entering into the presence of God and living forever with Him in glory. Unbelievers will face the final judgment when they shall be forever separated from the presence of the Lord because of their unbelief.
